Park Features and Amenities

Kitchens

The Camp (Camp One) and Holiday Park (Camp Two) have large kitchens with ample fridge and freezer space, hotplates and gas hobs, toasters, microwaves, ovens and on tap boiling water. Campers must supply their own utensils and cooking equipment. We provide a separate space for charging your phones and devices whilst you cook or eat.

Large outdoor BBQ and covered dining area

Both the Camp and Holiday Park have excellent outdoor eating and cooking facilities which include free gas BBQ’s, gas hobs and ample picnic tables.

Lounge and dining areas

Adjoining the kitchen is a lounge where you are welcome to relax and meet with other guests. There is a small library of books which you can borrow or contribute to. There are dining tables and chairs with a desk for writing and reading. We have a new addition – an area set aside for children to sit, play, read and be together.

Shower and toilet facilities

We have two separate shower and toilet blocks in both the Camp and Holiday Park. Showers are FREE for the initial four minutes of hot water in the main shower blocks. You can use $0.50 coins for longer showers.

Wheelchair accessible shower cubicles are available in both the male and female shower blocks. A shower chair is also available upon request.

Laundry - washing machines, dryers and washing lines

We have washing machines and dryers available for campers to use. We do have washing lines, however you will need your own pegs, for some reason ours have legs and keep walking! Washing machines cost $4.00 per cycle, this includes the free commercial, non-fragrant wash liquid, each cycle is approximately 45 minutes. Dryers are $4.00 per cycle for 45 minutes.

If you need coins, we can offer cash out on eftpos card at the office for laundry, dryers and showers only.

Baby bathroom

Located in the Holiday Park ablution block, is a separate room with a small bath and changing table for babies. Access code available at the Office.

Dump stations

There are three dump stations throughout the Park with easy access for large and small motorhomes, buses and caravans.

Drinking water

All water from taps (except Dump station taps) is treated and suitable for drinking.

Fish cleaning area

We have a bench and sink set aside for fish cleaning in Camp One. In Camp Two, the Holiday Park, we have a full sink and water tap in the Boat Parking area for fish cleaning. All fish scraps must be wrapped before putting into skip please.

Recycling

We have facilities for recycling bottles. There is a full recycling container 1km down the road at the Kaiteriteri Beach Reserve area. We have skips in both Camps for general rubbish.

Storage – caravans, boats and vehicles

We have limited storage area which is available for casual rent only, except December and January. For guests staying with us over summer, storage for boats, trailers and cars is free. Casual storage fees are $5.00/day for a maximum of 21 days. We cannot offer storage longer than three weeks.

Wifi is FREE! Check at the office for the password.

Pets welcome – After Waitangi weekend to 15th December

We welcome your furry friends after Waitangi weekend through until 15th December. The main rules are picking up all droppings and dogs on a leash at all times.

Conference and small meeting rooms

In Camp One we have our Main Hall available for hire, it seats up to 150 people and the Small Hall and catering kitchen which seats up to 50 people. In Camp Two, we have a new office block in which we have a small conference room and catering kitchen for up to 20 people.

Bethany Park is an awesome place to base your camp from – lots of activities are in close proximity, such as mountain biking, tramping, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, etc. The waterslide in the campgrounds is an extra bonus and a hit with everyone – adults included! The accommodation is perfect for school camps and the hosts are very hospitable and welcoming – nothing is a problem. We return every year and our students love their time here.

For 20 years Chilton Saint James School’s students have absolutely loved staying at Bethany Park for their Year 9 camp.

The camp staff are organised, easy to deal with and always keen to help the students have a safe and happy time. The location of the camp, at the entrance to the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park, enable easy access to the Park, the beach, the sea and bushwalks – so the activities available are many and varied. The providers in the area, such as sea-kayaking, abseiling and water taxis, deliver first class service and expertise.

Bethany Park is spacious with comfortable cabins, clean amenities, a great dining/ recreation hall and cosy conversation pit. The food is always excellent and specific dietary needs are well catered for.

The wonderful weather is a bonus, for many years we came to Kaiteriteri in September and what a treat it was to leave cold (maybe windy) Wellington behind to bask in lovely spring sunshine.

I unreservedly recommend Bethany Park for a memorable camp experience.

We loved the big park/playground at Camp 1 under the shade of the trees. Loved the atmosphere and how clean things were kept. The linen was an awesome option and really nice clean fresh things. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved movie nights. We like all the signage around and the safe environment. 🙂

We stayed here two nights. Loads of space and we had free choice to where we parked. We walked down to the beach – about 10 minutes along a track and also along the coast to Stephens Bay. The paths are well marked and easy to follow. Even though it was a weekend and there were lots of children around the site was really quiet. Showers and loos were super clean. Great place.

I really liked the feel of this campsite! Very friendly and safe. Yes it’s a big site but they definitely have enough facilities. Great indoor/outdoor kitchen area with bbqs and plenty of toilets & showers. The plots are also really good size! Was nice to stay here after staying at freedom camping sites. Also free movie most nights at 7pm!

Bethany Park is fantastic! If you enjoy beaches, mountain biking, swimming, kayaking, abseiling & tramping you’ll love Bethany Park as a base for your camping experience. The people are great to deal with. The facilities are clean, well maintained and new projects are always on the go. Personally I’ve been taking classes for 12 years and Ranzau’s association stretches a lot further back than that (long may it last). Ranzau School loves it!

A very well kept campsite, absolutely spotless. Very friendly staff who gave us good information about both local sights and recommendations about places worth a visit further afield. We stayed two nights and we were very pleased with everything! One of the best campsites we’ve been to during our travels through the country.
